The Founders’ Feedback

 Reporter: Lyn Tolbert (Gen 11)

Subject: The Ghosts of Collin & Carter Henderson (Generation 1)

Location: The Old Henderson Plot (Cemetery)

Lyn: I’m sitting in the dirt at the oldest plot in the cemetery. I’ve got my incense, my recorder, and a heavy-duty portable charger. To understand where the 421-Sim legacy is going, I have to talk to the two people who started it all. Collin. Carter. Can you hear me? Or are you too busy rolling in your graves at the mention of 'Imperial Charters'?

The Air: (The temperature drops instantly. A faint, greenish mist curls around the headstones. A spectral voice, sounding like dry leaves skittering on stone, echoes in the recorder.)

The Voice of Carter: Too much noise... too many names. We planted a garden, Lyndsey Tolbert. We didn't build a fortress. Why are they counting the leaves instead of enjoying the shade?

Lyn: The 'leaves' are currently fighting a civil war. Your descendant Alicia has declared herself the architect of an Empire, and Addyson is a Grand Duchess. They’re obsessed with rank, status, and who hits Generation 12 first. Is this what you wanted when you started Household #1?

The Voice of Collin: We wanted survival. We wanted a hearth that never went cold. Rank is a ghost's garment—it has no weight and provides no warmth. Tell the 'Empress' that a crown is just a circle that keeps people out. Tell the 'Duchess' that a title is a cage made of gold.

Lyn: One more thing. There’s a secret in the Capp Manor. A hidden room in the West Wing. Tybalt is guarding it, and Alicia is hovering over it like a vulture. Is there a 'Henderson Secret' that dates back to your time? Something that doesn't fit the 'Perfect Empire' image?

The Voices: (The mist begins to swirl violently, and the recorder emits a sharp burst of static.)

The Voice of Carter: Truth is the only thing the Empire cannot tax. Look for the child who doesn't speak. Look for the shadow that doesn't cast a light. The tree is strongest where the wood is scarred... not where it is polished.

The Historian’s Tactical Sidebar:

  • The "Scarred Wood" Clue: This is a direct hit. The Founders are basically saying the "perfect" parts of the tree (the titles, the magic, the Imperial decrees) aren't where the real story is. The real story is in the "scar"—the part they're trying to hide.

  • The Founders' Disgust: They clearly think Alicia’s "Empire" is a joke. "Rank is a ghost's garment" is the sickest burn I’ve ever heard.

  • The West Wing Link: "Look for the child who doesn't speak." That isn't Nadine or Leslie—those two are plenty loud.
